Katie Holmes And Al Pacino Join Adam Sandler's Jack And Jill

Since early June, when it was revealed that Dennis Dugan would direct the film and Adam Sandler outlined the plot, there has been no news on Jack and Jill, the film that will be the seventh collaboration between the two. Presumably, they have been doing work on their next project, Just Go With It, but with that film completed, it's time to move on, and that process starts with casting.

THR reports that Katie Holmes and Al Pacino have joined the project, which will see Sandler play twins, one male and one female. In the film, Jack (Sandler) is a happy family man living in California, but his life is upended when his sister, Jill (Sandler), comes for Thanksgiving and decides not to leave. Holmes will be playing Sandler's wife in the film, while Pacino will play himself.

Ignoring for the moment that this film sounds like a rejected idea for Sandler's character in Funny People, what the hell happened to Pacino that he's making films like this? Remember the classic Pacino? The Godfather series? Dog Day Afternoon? Serpico? Hell, the man even made it into the 90's with Heat. But much like Robert DeNiro, he just doesn't seem to care anymore. Instead, he feels the need to chew up the screen every chance he gets. Al, you're so much better than this.
